The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has declared Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) available for businesses and organizations affected by the severe drought that began on July 16, 2024. This declaration, under SBA Disaster Declaration WV-20007, impacts several counties across West Virginia including Tucker County as well as neighboring states.
Affected Areas:
- West Virginia Counties: Berkeley, Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Jefferson, Mineral, Morgan, Pendleton, Pocahontas, Randolph, and Tucker.
- Contiguous West Virginia Counties: Barbour, Greenbrier, Preston, Upshur, and Webster.
- Contiguous Maryland Counties: Allegany, Garrett, and Washington.
- Contiguous Virginia Counties: Augusta, Bath, Clarke, Frederick, Highland, Loudoun, Rockingham, and Shenandoah.
Application Deadline: March 31, 2025
Assistance Available: EIDLs are designed to provide working capital to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, aquaculture businesses, and most private non-profits affected by the drought. These loans are intended to help cover ordinary and necessary financial obligations that cannot be met due to the disaster.
